The Saint of the Impossible: Screening in Perú

After two years of closure due to the pandemic, the Peruvian Ministry of Culture reopened the Armando Robles Godoy movie theater with a special screening of the film “La Santa de lo Imposible” (The Saint of the Impossible), by Swiss director Marc Wilkins and starring Peruvian actress Magaly Solier. This screening was made possible thanks to the support of the Swiss Embassy in Peru. The reopening of the cinema took place with the participation of Vice Minister of Cultural Heritage and Cultural Industries of Perú, Sonaly Tuesta; the Ambassador of Switzerland in Peru, Paul Garnier; the Director General of the General Directorate of Cultural Industries and Arts, and Director in charge of the Directorate of Audiovisual, Phonography and New Media, Laura Martinez; the Cusquenian actor, Adriano Durand and the producer of the film, Joël Jent.

“Cinema is a way to unite us, to tell stories, to be in other spaces and in our country it also means a way to empathize with other realities. Cinema continues to be a very powerful tool to connect and communicate,” said Vice Minister Tuesta.

Paul Garnier, Swiss Ambassador to Peru, said: “It is an important day of union between Swiss and Peruvian culture. Finally we can come together in this impressive building that is the Ministry of Culture to enjoy a moment of art, exchange and learning”.
